We have some great news in Oregon—a misguided bill that would have dramatically altered the way auto insurance is priced has been pulled from the legislative agenda, effectively killing it for the year. This is due in large part to your efforts to educate lawmakers about the importance of risk-based pricing for auto insurance, so thank you to everyone who spoke out against this dangerous bill.
If passed, a ban on risk-based pricing like HB 2920 would make it harder for Oregonians to get affordable car insurance at a time when everyone is already struggling with high inflation and a rising cost of living. It would have had an especially detrimental impact on the rates that firefighters, teachers, nurses, retired seniors, active military, and others pay for auto insurance.
We will continue to advocate against these harmful policies. Sign up for updates to receive action alerts on future bills!
